Parvathi
was the first wild area to be opened
to tea cultivation on a large scale.
The original bungalow was built in
the year 1917 by A.W. Sharp, the manager
of the estate. Named after Lord Shiva’s
wife, it is located by the side of
the hill named Seven Mallay or Lord
Shiva’s mountain. Originally
called Shiva Mallay, the name metamorphosed
into Seven Mally as the English colonials
pronounced ‘Shiva, as ‘Seven’.
The bungalow is spacious and furnished
with the remnants of the original
pieces of the colonial era. The décor
