Rubber Plantation Visit: A visit to a Rubber Estate, Latex extraction, processing etc.

Farm visits: Paddy remains the major crop. Bunds are constructed around the lake and water is pumped out to make it suitable for farming. The method adopted for farming is in the style adopted in Holland. Coconut, cocoa and banana are also cultivated. Swaying coconut palms are a common sight throughout Kerala.
They give a distinctively green touch to Kumarakom. Water of tender coconut is the finest drink in the world and it is no doubt a valuable gift of nature to mankind. It has numerous medicinal properties. No other drink leads itself to such diversity of applications and uses in our traditional system of medicine.

Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary: A visit to the bird sanctuary, set within the lush acres of wooded land nearby, acquaints you to the variety of migratory birds that flock in thousands, some from the Himalayas, some even from as far as Siberia. In addition, you can get thrilled of the native kingfishers ablaze in psychedelic colors, experience a walk under rookeries of egrets and night herons or lone golden-backed woodpeckers and even delight in the acrobatics of the paradise fly-catchers. Kathakali: Kathakali is the classical dance-drama of Kerala, South India, which dates from the 17th century and is rooted in Hindu mythology. Krishnattam Dance: Krishnattam dance is another form of Kathakali, representing the various life stages of Lord Krishna. In Kerala, krishnanattam dance form still flourishes in the famous Guruvayoor Temple and other temples dedicated to Lord Krishna. The traditional Krishnattam dance is enacted as a series of 8 plays indicating the 8 main stages of lord Krishna's life.

Mohiniattam Dance: Mohiniattam dance is a very expressive form of dance of Kerala. It is made of two words, "mohini" and "attam". Mohini refers to a beautiful lady and attam means dance. So this traditional Mohiniattam dance form basically means the dance of an enchantress. In Kerala, classical mohiniatam dance form evolved centuries back under the influence of the great king of Travancore, Swati Tirunal. This king was a great patronage of fine arts and encouraged artists from all over India to perform in his court.

 
Kalaripayattu
Kalaripayattu - The Orient's treasure trove, a gift to the modern world and the mother of all martial arts. Legend traces the 3000-year-old art form to Sage Parasurama- the master of all martial art forms and credited to be the re-claimer of Kerala from the Arabian Sea. Kalaripayattu originated in ancient South India. Kung- fu, popularized by the monks of the Shoaling Temple traces its ancestry to Bodhi Dharma - an Indian Buddhist monk and Kalaripayattu master. Kerala Cuisine:- The cuisine of Kerala is as varied as the state itself. The traditional food in Kerala is served on banana leaves and is eaten with right hand. A very popular dish of Kerala is "Appam". This is basically a rice pancake with a fluffy center that is eaten with vegetable or mutton stew. Pouring coconut milk softens the center of Appam. Another popular dish is "Rasam" which is either mixed with rice and eaten or simply drunk. It is a thin concoction of tangy spices, chilies, and tamarind water with other spices like pepper and turmeric. It is almost like soup and is often taken as appetizer. You will find generous use of coconuts and curry leaves in Kerala's cuisines. Both are inseparable from the kitchen of a Kerala household!
Another famous dish is the "Puttu" that is prepared from rice flour steamed in long hollow bamboo sticks. This is then eaten with steamed bananas or spicy stew of grams or peas. Desserts form an integral part of Kerala cuisine. "Payasam" is a popular dessert, which is an absolute must if you are visiting Kerala. Another type of payasam that is known as "Adapradhaman" is made of rice and milk. It is very popular during any function and family get together.
